What set off the spark for this painting was a sunny view of the confluence of two rivers- the Narmada and the Kaveri- on one of my boating expeditions in the
heart of India. Later in my studio, while trying to stay true to what I had seen, I gave in to my ever-present need to suffuse a good deal of my spirit into the scene. By the time I got to its terrestrial part, my indulgent side had overtaken
my memory of the place, and it poured my imagination onto the canvas.
