A snapshot of my eight-year-young self, I doubt if I could ever get more
autobiographical than this one. While most of the composition was
drawn from memory and some imagination, the girl (moi) was drawn in
using an old photograph of mine as a reference point. The idea was to
visually chronicle one of my most vivid memories of the sea, so that one
may relive that heady cocktail of sensations that hit one while standing
in anticipation of the next big wave. That nostalgic dose apart, I feel a
stronger resonance with it now at 22, as I stand here dipping my
metaphoric toes into the ocean of creativity, in earnest anticipation of the
next big wave that shall leap out to grab me any moment now.
